Websites: the Good, the Bad, the UGLY! |
|
As the years go by, things start becoming outdated. This goes for Websites as well. Styling standards have come a long way since just a few years ago.
In order for you to land a sale or lead, your website should be, for the lack of a better word, "pretty". Here are a few tips to a nicely designed site:
- Make sure text is readable by using a good font, and good font size. At the same time, make sure that your text is not too big.
- Navigational buttons should also be legible and be "dynamic" so that users know that it is a button, waiting to be clicked!
- Graphics should be minimal to ensure a quick load time. Visitors don't want to wait for that impressive 4MB logo of yours to load.
- Design your webpage to fit a browser as small as 640 pixels wide. Who wants to keep scrolling right and left just to read your web page?
- Use different design elements, such as photos, lists, quotations to break up larger areas of text.
Don't be embarrased by ugly web design!
